An exhibit at the 32nd Japan Fine Arts Exhibition
I love working with camellias and have often portrayed them in my paintings. One can find camellias in winter snow and in early spring…nature produces many different seasonal variations. On one occasion, I encountered colorful camellia flowers and, although these camellias had already passed the peak of their growing season, they dauntlessly, cheerfully and proudly continued to bloom. I tried to reflect the throbbing excitement I felt in my heart in the rejoicing of the butterflies at the arrival of spring.
